First Snow gently covers ground and all in Her path
She is here
Silent
Clinging to leaves and branches
damp earth
fallen leaves
and lacy fern.
She is still
like an artist stealing into the night with white paint and brush
completely changing the landscape
nothing looks the same
all is different now.
As am I.

everything changes

Softly, gently through the night white crystals fall from the sky
covering ground, damp earth, fallen leaves in shades of brown and gold, bare tree branches, pine needles and hemlock trees
bright ferns are now delicate lace of white and green
tree stumps provide crevices and tree bark
snow gently clings to all in her path
